Savennieres – Coulee de Serrant - Nicolas Joly has 14.5 hectares of Chenin Blanc which is tended to boidynamically. He is one of the most outspoken proponents of wine production by these methods and rightly so as he produces some of the finest expressions of dry Chenin to be found anywhere in the world.
Domaine aux Moines - Fine Savenniere is produced at this 8 hectare domaine. The vineyards have an excellent exposure at the top of the coteaux over looking the Loire at La Roche aux Moines. (The Monks Rock) Monique Laroche and her daughter Tessa produce the wine here at this prestigious estate. Specialise in supplying older vintages that go back over a dozen years so can show how Savenneire does well with age.
Château Piere Bise - One of our favourite Coteaux du Layon producers based in the little village of Beaulieu sur Layon. Clause Papin has some 53 hectars of vines the reds of which are full of rich blackberry and mulberry fruits whilst the CdeL is full of peach, honey and nutmeg. Mmm! Got my mouth watering just thinking about them!
