La Grande Maison D’Arthenay is approximately 20kms (12.5 miles) south of Saumur between the village Le Puy Notre Dame and the town of Doué La Fontaine. The commune and our address is Les Verchers Sur Layon 49700 but the house is actually situated between the villages of Argentay and Arthenay on rue de la Cerisaie. GPS W0 15.719 N47 8.573
Look out for these signs when you are closer to the house
From Saumur follow the green signs to Cholet until you see signs for Le Puy Notre Dame. After this roundabout follow the signs towards Le Puy Notre Dame.
So, leave the D960 Doué Ring Road and take the D87 towards Le Puy Notre Dame. After 1km (1/2 mile) turn right onto the D214 signposted Argentay. (see picture below). DO NOT CARRY ON TO LE PUY NOTRE DAME
Follow the D214 for 1/2 km (500 yds) and you will see this sign.
Follow the D214 (bearing to the left) for a further 2 kms (about 1 mile) until you see a sign Les Caves on your left hand side.
Take this road and you will see La Grande Maison ahead of you. (see picture below)
At the little junction go straight on, La Grande Maison is 200m on the right hand side. Carry on to the rear of the property and park on the tarmac drive. Please do not park in front of the vines as there is a lovely view. WELCOME - BIENVENUE!

PPPS: If you are looking on Google maps enter Les Caves Rue de la Cerisaie you will find the road that the house is on so follow that road up through the vines from Les Caves and over the hill until you see the house of the left hand side.
