About Our Wine Tours

We focus on quality of service to our guests with a hint of luxury and have 11 years experience in Loire Valley delivering our wine tours. We created the 'original' Loire Wine Tour package to fit your needs back in 2004. It has often been reproduced since then but with us you will also get the chance to stay right in the heart of the vineyards. No need to be ferried backwards and forwards from your hotel for tastings. Come home after touring all day and put your feet up whilst we serve you tea or coffee with biscuits in the glorious gardens before being chauffeur driven to your evenings dining experience.

Our tours mainly focus on organic, biodynamic and natural wineries and we  like to cover a broad range of winery types from the small family producers to some of the larger sparkling wine houses for which the Saumur area is famous.

Staying at La Grande Maison also gives you the exclusive opportunity to tour the house's own wine caves and tunnels which are not open to the general public. The caves date back to the 16th Century when this was a working wine estate and in the tunnels you will see carvings from the period around the 1st World War.

"...it got better and better, and we learned so much! Sue and Micaela's first hand understanding of wine and the wine industry, as well as their friendships with the local vintners allowed us to be welcomed into the wine-making families and to experience first hand how proud and passionate they are about this noble profession."

"We learned so much about wine and wine making from Sue, Micaela and their carefully chosen wine makers. The wines available to buy were fantastic value and delicious, ranging in price from 4.5 euros to 30 euros per bottle, so something for everyone. Great whites and rose (dry and sweet) and sparkling wine but also some unexpectedly good reds. We kept thinking we'd never manage another drop of wine, but it seemed really easy when it was all so good! The great picnic lunches in super locations also helped the taste buds recover."
